Te Rito Staff
Manaaki Tairāwhiti is a regional collective that brings together iwi, Gisborne District Council, Trust Tairāwhiti, government agencies, and the networks of non-government organisations that provide social services across Tairāwhiti. Te Rito is the backbone office that supports this collective, providing the coordination, infrastructure, and support needed to work together effectively.
Te Rito does not deliver frontline services to whānau. Instead, the backbone office supports system leadership, evidence and insights, workforce development, and cross-sector coordination. The work is delivered through a flexible mix of permanent staff, fixed-term roles, and specialist contractors, allowing Te Rito to adapt as priorities and kaupapa evolve.
